Principal - Technology Operations

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting a Principal Technology Operations professional based in Dubai. The role oversees the availability, performance and reliability of critical applications, databases, infrastructure, networks and security platforms, and leads technology operations teams and transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the availability, performance and reliability of critical applications, databases, infrastructure, networks and security platforms.
• Lead production change management, reviewing, approving and validating deployments to minimise operational risks and service disruptions.
• Define and implement cloud strategies across public, private and hybrid environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
• Manage on-premises infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, hardware lifecycle, maintenance and modernisation.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies covering IAM, encryption, threat detection, vulnerability management, firewalls and compliance.
• Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, meeting RTO and RPO requirements.
• Manage technology vendors and service providers, monitor SLAs and optimise operational costs and technology budgets.
• Lead technology transformation, automation, DevOps adoption and continuous improvement programmes.
• Lead, mentor and develop technology operations teams, provide executive-level reporting on performance, risks, incidents and compliance, and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
• At least 15 years of experience across technology operations, application management, infrastructure, cybersecurity and database domains.
• Proven leadership experience managing technology teams, driving organisational change and delivering transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to work with C-level executives and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; proficiency in English is required, Arabic preferred.

Required skills

• Cloud architecture and operations with AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and on-premises infrastructure management.
• Cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• CISSP or CEH certification is an advantage.
