Program Director – Nuclear Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Program Director to lead our nuclear project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This strategic leadership position oversees all aspects of a large‑scale nuclear energy initiative from conception through completion, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and alignment with organizational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive program strategies, timelines and budgets that meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide decisive leadership to cross‑functional teams of engineers, contractors and support staff.
• Manage project budget, financial forecasting and resource allocation to ensure cost‑effectiveness.
• Coordinate with government agencies, regulatory bodies and international partners to ensure compliance with IAEA and UAE nuclear standards.
• Identify, analyze and mitigate project risks through detailed planning and proactive problem‑solving.
• Oversee vendor and contractor management, including procurement, performance evaluation and contract negotiations.
• Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance and safety management systems across all project phases.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in nuclear energy project management or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Professional project‑management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nuclear safety standards, IAEA regulations and UAE nuclear regulations.
• Proven leadership experience managing large, diverse teams in regulated environments.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities with a track record of delivering complex technical projects.

Required skills

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or PRINCE2.
• Proficiency with project‑management software tools (e.g., MS Project).
• In‑depth understanding of IAEA nuclear safety standards.
• Expertise in budgeting, financial forecasting and cost control.
• Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
