Programme Director - Rail

About the role

Mace is looking for a Programme Director / Project Director for major rail programmes or projects in the UAE. The role sits at the executive leadership level, integrating governance, delivery partners, commercial performance and client outcomes. It is listed as part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of programme, account and project strategies, turning client vision into outcomes aligned with business objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders, providing strategic leadership and governance.
• Drive business growth, market positioning and account development through client relationships and opportunity conversion.
• Champion Mace's values of safety first, service excellence, sustainability, digital innovation and continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership for multidisciplinary teams and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Ensure governance, risk management, compliance and assurance frameworks are embedded.
• Oversee performance across safety, quality, programme, cost, sustainability and operational objectives, and drive productivity improvements.
• Influence strategic direction within the business and industry, and contribute to the net zero carbon transition.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent professional experience in the applicable discipline.
• Demonstrated experience on rail, metro, high-speed rail or comparable major infrastructure programmes.
• Knowledge of relevant delivery processes, standards, systems and governance for the role.
• Professional membership, chartership or specialist certification preferred where applicable.
• UAE or wider GCC experience is advantageous but should not replace technical and delivery competence.

• Multidisciplinary coordination skills.
