Programme Manager – Adult Learning, Community Engagement & Tashyeed

About the role

The Programme Manager will design, implement and oversee high‑quality adult learning, community engagement and talent‑development programmes for the orchestra. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Engagement, the role works closely with Artistic, Marketing, Operations and Production teams to ensure programmes are inclusive, measurable and aligned with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the orchestra’s adult learning and community engagement strategy and design innovative programmes for adults, families, community groups and amateur musicians.
• Develop clear objectives, learning outcomes and participation pathways that reflect the cultural context and national priorities.
• Manage the full lifecycle of programmes – from research and concept development through budgeting, scheduling, delivery and evaluation.
• Coordinate workshops, masterclasses, public rehearsals, community performances and audience‑engagement initiatives.
• Build and maintain partnerships with cultural organisations, universities, local authorities and corporate partners to extend reach and impact.
• Lead the flagship Tashyeed talent‑development initiative, ensuring its national recognition and continuous improvement.
• Represent the orchestra at community meetings, conferences and stakeholder forums as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and delivering adult learning or community‑engagement programmes, preferably in the arts sector.
• Strong project‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple programmes simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Understanding of both Eastern and Western orchestral music and cultural relevance.
