QA/QC Inspector - Painting and Insulation

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company active in oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QA/QC inspector for the Taziz Methanol project in Abu Dhabi. The role covers painting and insulation quality control, ensuring quality management systems are implemented on site in line with project requirements and ISO 9001.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, implement and develop the quality management system across all disciplines according to project requirements and ISO 9001, and set up the overall quality organisation
• Prevent Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through proactive quality management
• Create the site quality execution plan, assign tasks to team members and manage their performance
• Develop quality training courses and establish processes to control rework caused by non-conforming work
• Identify and eliminate quality risks, apply lessons learned and set practical work processes
• Define quality performance indicators, run internal quality audits of construction staff and subcontractors, and carry out sampling inspections
• Lead quality meetings with clients and subcontractors, liaise on quality issues and NCRs, and help achieve mechanical completion
• Analyse root causes of issues and propose quality improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field
• 10+ years of experience in QA/QC inspections from project start to completion
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards, and experience on medium to large projects
• Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plant projects, and in engineering and construction companies in the GCC

Required skills

• Certified welding inspector: AWS CWI, CSWIP 3.1 WI, or an approved equivalent
• Mechanical inspection: API 510, 570, 653
• Coating inspection: NACE CIP, SSPC PCI, CSWIP BGAS, or an approved equivalent
• ASNT Level II or III
• In-depth knowledge of codes, standards and regulations, and advanced inspection techniques and material testing methods
