Quantity Surveyor - Roads and Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Quantity Surveyor specializing in roads and infrastructure to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The role covers estimating costs and managing the budgets of roads, infrastructure and landscaping projects.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate project costs and manage budgets, including initial cost estimates and monitoring progress to stay within budget
• Review claims and contractor monthly invoices against KPIs, and prepare the proper submittals
• Keep up-to-date asset control records and handle variation orders
• Handle post-contract functions such as interim and final payments, variations, commercial and contractual correspondence, cash flows and claims
• Advise on contractual matters and on the contractor's resource allocation
• Carry out or verify remeasurement works, audit contractor payments and check recorded measures of work done
• Prepare variations and day works, maintain expenditure records and monitor the final cost estimate
• Review and negotiate claim settlements, coordinate the team and prepare monthly financial statements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
• At least 8 years of experience in quantity surveying and contract administration of roads and maintenance works
• Thorough knowledge of CESMME and FIDIC
• UAE/GCC experience

Required skills

• Standard estimating activities typical of the engineering and construction industry
• Understanding of construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with project controls software and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System)
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office/Excel
