Resident Engineer - Marine

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Resident Engineer (Marine) to lead day-to-day construction supervision of major marine and environmental works. The role ensures compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings and specifications, and HSE standards, and involves leading a site supervision team for works such as temporary cofferdams, dredging and reclamation, piling, seawalls, revetments and quay walls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site supervision team for marine and environmental works and coordinate with the Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD) to obtain CEMP approval.
• Direct and manage supervision of marine key assets and associated structures, and supervise site engineers, inspectors and surveyors for quality and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with other discipline Senior Resident Engineers and with design engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, method statements, RFIs and technical proposals.
• Maintain daily diary records, review daily reports, monitor progress and productivity, and coordinate scheduling and resources with contractors.
• Identify risks, advise on contractual and construction matters, ensure safety goals and safe work procedures are met, and issue site directions as needed.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports for marine and environmental work.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction supervision of marine projects.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong technical writing skills.
• Strong understanding of contractual relationships and construction supervision processes.
• Able to attend physical interviews in Abu Dhabi; experience in the GCC is an advantage.

Required skills

• Desired: hands-on experience in marine and environmental works (cofferdams, dredging and reclamation, piling, seawalls, revetments, quay walls).
• Desired: strong stakeholder coordination across multi-discipline and multi-contractor environments.
• Strong computer literacy for reporting, record keeping and project systems.
