Reverse Osmosis Design Engineer

About the role

This engineer evaluates tender and inquiry specifications, prepares techno-commercial proposals and acts as an expert in designs, drawings, costing, SOWs, BOQs and reports. The role covers the full process and detailed hydraulic design of water treatment plants (RO, UF, DI, UV and other disinfection methods, membrane technologies for water and wastewater, municipal and industrial applications), while providing technical process support to the project team on awarded projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare process designs, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, equipment layouts and technical submittals.
• Review tender documents and develop optimized technical and commercial proposals.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and life-cycle cost analyses, and coordinate proposal submissions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal departments during bidding.
• Support project teams during execution, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Identify innovative technologies and process improvements to strengthen project competitiveness.
• Contribute to sales activities that drive business opportunities and project acquisition.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry.
• Knowledge of international process engineering standards.

• Strong knowledge of water (RO) and wastewater treatment processes.
• Process design, optimization and process simulation.
• Hydraulic calculations and engineering documentation.
• Equipment selection, RO and UF plant assembly, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Cost estimation and budgeting.
• AutoCAD and MS Office.
