Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) Technician

About the role

Motive Offshore Group, a provider of equipment rental, manufacturing and Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) services in the global energy industry, is looking for a TIC Technician in Sharjah, UAE. The role covers visual, non-destructive testing (NDT) and magnetic rope testing (MRT) of crane and lifting wire ropes, plus commissioning and operating spooling winches. It sits within the FZE team, reporting to the TIC Division Manager for MENA.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual assessments of rental fleet and lifting equipment and oversee its maintenance, management and certification
• Carry out NDT and MRT on equipment, including MPI, ET and PT inspections of critical load-bearing components
• Support spooling, inspection and socketing of wire ropes, and facilitate removal and installation of crane wire ropes
• Take part in offshore operations and international work assignments as required
• Lead and support crane and lifting gear load testing
• Prepare inspection reports, test certificates and technical documentation
• Comply with HSEQ regulations and take part in training courses

Required profile

• Fluent spoken and written English, educated to a proficient standard
• Proven hands-on experience with cranes, winches and lifting equipment onshore and offshore
• Years of experience in wire rope inspection, spooling and socketing
• Willingness to travel and work onshore and offshore across the UAE/GCC

Required skills

• Recognised NDT qualification (e.g. PCN, ASNT or equivalent) in PT, MT, ET
• Lifting equipment inspection competency (LEEA preferred)
• Training in Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT/EMAG)
• Offshore survival and medical certificate (can be provided); rope access and eddy current certification (can be provided)
