Safety Manager

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Safety Manager in Abu Dhabi within the construction sector. The post oversees the application of occupational health and safety measures across the company, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee occupational health and safety measures, including risk assessments, safety inspections and the creation and dissemination of health and safety guidelines.
• Train employees and management on compliance practices.
• Investigate incidents to establish causes and preventive measures, and handle worker's compensation claims.
• Develop and execute health and safety plans in line with legal guidelines, and prepare and enforce policies to build a safety culture.
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities, and monitor compliance through inspections of employees, operations and equipment.
• Recommend improvements and prevention measures, and lead in-house training for managers and employees.

Required profile

• Lead Auditor certification (mandatory).
• Safety Engineering certification, and NEBOSH and IOSH certifications.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Proven experience working with ALDAR properties (mandatory).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
• Risk assessment and incident investigation.
