Senior Architect - Arabic Speaker

About the role

An experienced Senior Architect who speaks Arabic is sought to join a design and fit-out company in Dubai. The role covers the coordination of architectural, structural and MEP drawings, fit-out and joinery shop drawings, and technical support on site.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Prepare, review and coordinate fit-out and joinery shop drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, construction and fixing details.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, joinery factories and site teams to resolve technical queries.
• Prepare and submit material submittals, RFIs, method statements and technical documents, and review joinery material and hardware submittals.
• Provide technical support to the site team, identify and resolve technical issues and site discrepancies, and coordinate MEP services with fit-out works.
• Review site conditions and propose practical technical solutions.
• Inspect fit-out and joinery installations for dimensions, alignment, finishes and workmanship against approved drawings and samples.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Dubai/UAE fit-out projects.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of interior fit-out, renovation, joinery and custom furniture works.
• Good knowledge of architectural finishes, gypsum works, ceilings, flooring, doors, kitchens, wardrobes, cabinetry and wall paneling.
• Sound knowledge of solid wood, MDF, plywood, veneers, laminates and paint finishes.
• Understanding of joinery construction methods, hardware selection, fabrication tolerances and installation requirements.
• Knowledge of MEP coordination.
• Must be an Arabic speaker.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage
