Senior Architect - Interior Design (Site Supervision)

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Senior Architect - Interior Design with extensive site supervision experience to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This leadership role oversees interior design projects from conception through completion, ensuring quality, adherence to timelines and compliance with local building regulations. The position is on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all aspects of interior design projects on-site, ensuring quality standards and project specifications are met
• Lead and mentor design and construction teams in a collaborative environment
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits against design documentation and UAE building codes
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and consultants to resolve design challenges
• Prepare and review design documentation, including drawings, specifications and material schedules
• Manage project budgets and timelines, identify risks and implement corrective actions
• Communicate progress and concerns to stakeholders and senior management
• Customize designs to client requirements while maintaining architectural integrity
• Oversee procurement of materials and finishes, and document milestones and project records

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in interior design and architecture
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on site supervision and project management experience
• Proven expertise in commercial and/or residential interior design projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials and building systems
• Familiarity with UAE building codes, regulations and local design standards
• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required; preferred

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in CAD software and 3D visualization tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
