Senior Architect - Site

About the role

Egis, an international firm active in architecture, consulting, construction engineering and mobility services, is looking for an experienced Senior Architect - Site to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees all architectural works on site, ensuring strict adherence to contract documents, specifications and quality standards, and acts as a key link between the design team, contractors and project management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor all architectural works to ensure conformance with contract documents, procedures manual and project specifications
• Review, analyse and process architectural technical submittals
• Address and resolve architectural Requests for Information (RFIs) in a timely way
• Coordinate and supervise architectural activities and operations on site
• Evaluate contractor architectural change order proposals and review contractor claims, giving recommendations to the Project Manager
• Lead interdisciplinary coordination with other design disciplines and sub-consultants
• Mentor architectural inspectors and conduct inspections of completed works, including start-up, testing, commissioning and handover
• Sign off completed works and verify that documentation is complete and accurate
• Prepare weekly planning and progress reports, and perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the Middle East region
• 6-8 years in a UAE or Middle East-based international consultancy environment
• Experience managing architectural inspectors and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
• Complete project lifecycle knowledge, from design inception to handover

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of exterior envelope details, material interfaces and architectural systems
• Excellent English verbal and written communication
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Expertise in architectural inspection, quality assurance and commissioning
• Handling of change orders, RFIs and contractor claims
