Senior Architectural Engineer

About the role

Worley, a global energy, chemicals and resources consulting, engineering, procurement and construction firm, is hiring a Senior Architectural Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The role covers technical competency, project execution and deliverables, from design and drawings to coordination with contractors, suppliers and the project team.

Key responsibilities

• Support adherence to engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements and customer specifications, and standardize equipment specs, drawings and document templates.
• Prepare plans, layouts and designs with supporting calculations, and supply drafting and estimating staff with information for detailed drawings, quantities, material lists and cost estimates.
• Check plans, designs and materials against specifications, perform studies, design concepts, reports, plant layout and construction drawings, and prepare materials and construction specifications.
• Conduct surveys, studies and site investigations, and prepare and issue drawing packages.
• Provide technical guidance to drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplines, manage project change and quality, and liaise with R&D, manufacturing, suppliers, clients and commissioning engineers.
• Review and approve design and interfaces, maintain work progress (budget and schedule), raise change documentation, and respond to contractor RFIs and shop drawings.
• Help prepare technical detail for sales inquiries, quotations and contracts, study lessons learned, and create final documentation for customer approval.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from an accredited university.
• MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) Grade A professional registration is mandatory; candidates not yet registered must be willing to obtain it during probation.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is an advantage.
• Experience with all major building types (commercial, residential, civic, industrial) and with substation design.
• Demonstrated project architect responsibility level for medium-size commercial and/or industrial buildings from inception to completion.
• Commitment to HSE management, punctuality, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of local and international codes and standards applicable to architectural design.
• Intermediate understanding of regulations, codes and industry standard practices.
• Planning, organizing and networking skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
