Senior AV Engineer

About the role

GCG Enterprise Solutions, an office automation and AV solutions provider established in 1982, is looking for a Senior AV Engineer in Dubai. You will lead the physical deployment, wiring, rack integration and testing of audio-visual and low-voltage systems across GCG project sites in the UAE, acting as the senior technical authority on site and directing junior technicians and outsourced labour.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the installation, mounting and alignment of displays, projectors, projection screens and audio/speaker systems.
• Read architectural, structural and AV drawings to plan mounting positions, containment and cable routes.
• Execute structural display and projector rigging in line with load ratings and safe working practices.
• Oversee LED video wall assembly (NovaStar or similar) and professional rack builds with precise wire lacing and labelling.
• Terminate structured, AV and low-voltage cabling (copper, HDMI/HDBaseT, audio, control) and run signal testing and pre-commissioning checks.
• Complete snag lists, QC checklists, cable schedules and as-built mark-ups, and support commissioning engineers and client walkthroughs.
• Allocate daily tasks to junior technicians and outsourced labour, coordinate first-fix and second-fix with project managers and MEP contractors, and report daily progress and site risks to the Head of Presales & Delivery.
• Travel between project sites using your own transport and comply with site HSE requirements, permits to work and working-at-height procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Electrical, Electronics or AV Technology; AVIXA CTS desired.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on AV and low-voltage installation experience, including UAE project sites.
• Proven experience leading on-site installation teams and guiding junior technicians.
• Valid UAE driving licence and own vehicle (mandatory).

Required skills

• Professional rack fabrication, cable management and structured cabling termination.
• Structural display and projector rigging and mounting.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and AV schematics.
• Desired: LED video wall assembly, NovaStar signal testing, basic awareness of Crestron and Q-SYS.
