Senior Cardiac Surgery Specialist – Government Facility

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Senior Cardiac Surgery Specialist to join a Government Healthcare Facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic conditions, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients referred for cardiac surgical evaluation, including pre‑operative assessment and treatment planning.
• Perform cardiac surgical procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, and aortic interventions.
• Provide peri‑operative and post‑operative care, monitor for complications, and coordinate with intensive care and anesthesia teams.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations including echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation, CT, MRI and ECG.
• Participate in heart‑team meetings, case conferences, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior surgeons, contribute to teaching, research and continuous professional development.
• Cover on‑call, emergency, weekend and public‑holiday duties as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in cardiac surgery.
• Extensive experience in coronary artery bypass grafting, valve and aortic procedures.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cardiologists, anaesthetists, intensivists and nursing staff.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, infection control and evidence‑based practice.
