Senior Construction Engineer - Electrical

About the role

Penspen is hiring an experienced Senior Construction Engineer - Electrical, site-based in Abu Dhabi, to lead and support onshore electrical construction activities for oil and gas EPC projects. The role is full-time under a fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical construction activities for oil and gas EPC projects.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, method statements and construction procedures.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project requirements and HSE regulations.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, commissioning and subcontractor teams.
• Monitor installation of electrical equipment, cable systems, substations, transformers, switchgears and lighting systems.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve construction-related technical issues.
• Track project progress and support timely completion of construction milestones.
• Take part in testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Prepare progress reports and support project documentation requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector.
• 5 years of experience in the GCC region.
• 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Extensive experience in oil and gas pipeline construction projects.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM project environments.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pipeline installation, welding, testing and commissioning.
• In-depth understanding of HSE requirements and industry codes and standards.
• Proven leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.
