Senior Cost Control Engineer

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for an experienced Senior Cost Control Engineer in Dubai. The role provides input and insight across all project delivery phases, from inception to completion, and is responsible for delivering cost control for the whole project. It is a mid-management leadership position that works closely with the Project Management Team to keep the project within its approved budget.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and manage a cost control system to support the PMT's decision-making and keep the project within budget.
• Create a cost-awareness culture among the Project Management Team.
• Prepare project budgets for awarded projects based on actual costs, estimation data and contractual documents, and review tender estimations, escalating irregularities.
• Prepare monthly cost reports comparing actual performance against budget, liaising with internal teams for cost centre allocations and reviewing reports with stakeholders.
• Monitor daily project costs, metrics and efficiencies such as subcontractors and materials against the approved budget.
• Coordinate risk management activities, including the initial risk assessment of opportunities and risks.
• Contribute to monthly management reports, analyse project performance and advise on actuals versus budget.
• Maintain the central costing database, highlight cost deviations or overruns and escalate them for review.
• Review and amend the project budget when scope changes occur.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or another related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, project control, planning, estimation, budgeting and cost control.
• Experience with Earned Value Method in cost reporting; Certified Cost Professional is an added advantage.
• Industry certifications in project management and project controls.
• Computer literate, with a proven track record of success.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of planning and cost control techniques, methods, systems, standards and software.
• Ability to interpret data, analyse results and think in a commercial context.
