Senior Interior Designer

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Senior Interior Designer in Dubai. The designer produces high-quality, detail-oriented work and is responsible for planning, designing and overseeing all deliverables of the design phases, from concept through to technical design.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day design activities across multiple projects, including hospitality, offices, residential, retail and mixed-use.
• Work closely with the Design Manager and project team to develop design concepts and visions for interior spaces, taking into account client preferences and functional requirements.
• Develop floor plans and layouts that maximise space while ensuring functionality and flow, including mood boards, material boards, concept presentations and design briefs.
• Select materials, finishes and furnishings, considering durability, sustainability and budget, and prepare sample boards.
• Prepare preliminary sketches and review projects before presenting them to management.
• Review and approve technical drawings, design specifications, cost estimates and construction recommendations.
• Train and guide suppliers, building contractors and subcontractors to meet quality standards, checking dimensions, materials and finishes against the approved design during on-site inspections.
• Manage time, plan projects, coordinate resources and follow up on projects and initiatives.
• Keep management informed of project progress, correspondence, checkpoints, drawings and quantities, and report calculation discrepancies immediately.
• Attend client and management meetings, document design changes and revisions, and verify client and building management emails with management before sending, with at least one colleague copied.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and other drafters to ensure drawing accuracy, and schedule third-party vendor site visits for quotations and surveys.
• Meet strict deadlines and deliverables.

Required profile

• University degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Detailed-oriented, with effective communication and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
