Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Lead the design and delivery of production‑grade machine learning and generative AI systems that solve complex product and business problems at scale for SAP customers in the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end architecture and implementation of data pipelines, feature stores, training workflows, model‑serving infrastructure and online experimentation.
• Drive advanced use cases across deep learning, NLP, ranking, recommendation, forecasting, semantic retrieval and LLM applications (RAG, tool use, evaluation harnesses, safety controls).
• Guide technical direction on model selection, distributed training, GPU utilization, model compression, prompt and retrieval optimization, drift detection and responsible AI controls.
• Mentor engineers and turn best practices into reusable platform capabilities.

Required profile

• 7‑9+ years of software engineering and machine‑learning experience, with a track record of delivering production‑scale AI systems.
• Strong product judgment and ability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable AI solutions.
• Thrives in fast‑moving, complex environments and demonstrates ownership and strategic thinking.

Required skills

• Expert‑level Python programming.
• Software engineering in Java or Go.
• Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn.
• Experience with LLM tooling, embeddings, vector databases, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering and AI safety guardrails.
• MLOps expertise: model registries, feature stores, CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, experiment tracking and automated validation.
• Architectural knowledge of distributed, event‑driven, streaming and cloud‑native ML platforms.
