Senior Offshore Safety Engineer (Detailed Engineering)

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to lead detailed engineering activities for offshore projects. You will ensure that all designs comply with contract requirements, applicable codes, and HSE legislation, supporting the delivery of safe and reliable assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project deliverables, proposals, man‑hour estimates and execution methodology.
• Identify HSE requirements, develop and implement Project HSE Plans, loss‑prevention and fire‑and‑gas (F&G) philosophies.
• Coordinate and follow up HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, PHSER and 3D model reviews.
• Review multidisciplinary design documents for HSE compliance and hazard identification.
• Prepare hazardous‑area schedules, passive and active fire‑protection designs, and fire‑water system calculations using PIPENET.
• Apply ADNOC offshore engineering practices, NFPA, API and other international standards.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including dispersion, fire/explosion modeling and safety‑case studies.
• Support procurement, cost estimation, and quality‑assurance activities within Worley’s QA system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSc Hons) from a recognised university.
• Membership of a relevant engineering institution.
• Knowledge of UAE offshore regulations and ADNOC corporate practices.

Required skills

• HAZID, HAZOP and SIL studies.
• PHSER and 3‑D modelling coordination.
• Fire and gas detection system design.
• Active and passive fire‑protection design.
• Fire‑water system design and hydraulic analysis (PIPENET).
• Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment, dispersion and fire/explosion modelling.
• Familiarity with NFPA, API, ADNOC offshore guidelines and related codes.
