Senior Payroll and Personnel Specialist

About the role

Dawam Business Solutions is hiring a Senior Payroll and Personnel Specialist in Sheikh Zayed. The role covers payroll administration, personnel administration, benefits oversight, compliance and reporting, and works closely with Finance and HR. It is a full-time, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing for salaried, hourly and contract staff, in line with company policy and tax laws
• Ensure correct calculation and withholding of federal, state and local taxes, and file quarterly and annual payroll tax reports
• Maintain accurate payroll records and handle adjustments, corrections and reconciliations of payroll accounts and benefit contributions
• Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, and administer benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, handle employment documentation and support employees with inquiries and education on payroll and benefits
• Generate payroll reports, conduct internal audits and provide compensation trend and pay equity analysis
• Improve payroll and personnel systems, collaborate with Finance and HR, and report on process improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing, personnel management or HR administration, preferably in a senior or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of payroll software and HRIS systems
• Thorough understanding of federal, state and local labour laws, including wage and hour, tax and benefits compliance
• Experience with benefits administration and reporting
• Professional certifications such as CPP, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP are a plus

• MS Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)
