Senior Resident Engineer - Bridge, Tunnel & Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to lead site supervision and oversee day-to-day construction activities on a major infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role covers bridges, tunnels, roads, utilities and associated infrastructure works.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor construction works for bridges, tunnels, roads, utilities and associated infrastructure, ensuring they follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with the Contractor, Client, authorities and other stakeholders, and monitor the Contractor's progress, programme, resources and performance.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, technical submittals and other project documentation.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures and inspection requirements are implemented, and identify and resolve technical, construction and coordination issues promptly.
• Lead site meetings, progress meetings and technical coordination meetings, and monitor quality, HSE compliance, progress and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams so that civil, structural, utilities and other works interface correctly.
• Review completed works and ensure testing, inspection, documentation and handover requirements are met.
• Provide technical and managerial support to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in bridge, tunnel, road and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in site supervision and construction management.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, specifications, QA/QC procedures and contract requirements.
• Good understanding of project planning, progress monitoring and construction coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience preferred.
