Senior Software Engineer – Facial Recognition (IT Group Security)

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer will join an agile feature team within Emirates Group IT, focusing on facial‑recognition solutions for the IT Group Security portfolio. You will work independently to design, develop, and maintain secure, high‑performance software that supports core business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior technical engineers to analyse requirements and contribute to technical design.
• Translate technical solutions for small‑to‑medium initiatives into low‑level designs and production‑ready code.
• Write secure, optimized code following Emirates Group coding standards and ensure 100% unit test coverage within the CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, resolve production incidents within SLAs, and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain built‑in quality, refactor to minimise code debt, and embed logging and monitoring hooks.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and apply learnings to improve code quality.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in an Agile environment.
• Proven ability to design, develop and maintain medium to large‑scale enterprise applications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and experience with production support.
