Senior Specialist Consultant - Pediatric Emergency Medicine

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist / Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join a reputed government healthcare facility in the UAE. The role involves providing specialized emergency care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring rapid assessment, stabilization, and effective management of acute medical and surgical conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage pediatric patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries and emergencies.
• Perform emergency evaluations, resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill or injured children.
• Manage emergencies such as respiratory distress, seizures, severe infections, trauma and dehydration.
• Prioritize patients through effective triage and clinical decision‑making.
• Order and interpret diagnostic investigations and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with pediatricians, surgeons, intensive care teams and other specialists.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment options and follow‑up care to parents and caregivers.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
• Participate in emergency preparedness, clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Recognised medical degree with postgraduate qualifications in Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
• Relevant clinical experience at Senior Specialist or Consultant level in pediatric emergency care.
• Current life‑support certifications appropriate to the role, such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Excellent clinical judgement, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Candidates with UK CCT, Western, American Board, Australian Board or German Board certifications are encouraged to apply.
