Senior Specialist, Economic Analysis

About the role

The Senior Specialist provides expert economic analysis to support ADNOC Upstream’s investment decisions, capital projects and business development activities, ensuring robust assessments for concessions, M&A and farm‑in/farm‑out transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct economic evaluations of upstream investment opportunities, including capital projects, mergers & acquisitions and farm‑in/farm‑out transactions.
• Prepare and review detailed economic models, financial forecasts and sensitivity analyses.
• Support the development and periodic review of the Upstream Investment Strategy and provide data‑driven recommendations to senior management.
• Participate in the preparation of business cases and presentation materials for Investment Program Committee and Investment Committee.
• Collaborate with Group Companies and other directorates to ensure consistency in evaluation methodologies and reporting standards.
• Assist in reviewing fiscal regimes, concession agreements and related legal documents to protect ADNOC and Government interests.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in economic analysis, financial modelling or investment evaluation within the oil and gas upstream sector.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing multidisciplinary teams and presenting findings to senior management.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and economic modelling tools.
• Financial modelling and investment appraisal techniques for upstream oil and gas projects.
• Understanding of upstream value chains, fiscal regimes and concession agreements.
