Senior Specialist Reporting (Telecommute)

About the role

Mercans is hiring a Senior Specialist Reporting for a back-end function focused on developing and configuring reports within its Mercans Global Payroll Software HR Blizz (HRB). The role works with clients and internal teams to turn complex reporting needs and technical specifications into HRB report configurations. It is a fully remote position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of report setup in HR Blizz, from requirement gathering and analysis through configuration, QA testing, client delivery and post-deployment support.
• Translate client, compliance and operational requirements into scalable, standardized or customized report formats.
• Build country-specific payroll reports meeting local legal requirements (tax authority submissions, wage summaries, year-end reports) and monitor regulatory changes across countries.
• Work with global clients and stakeholders to deliver tailored reports, dashboards and visualization tools covering labor costs, headcount, turnover and more.
• Use reporting frameworks and tools (Thymeleaf, MS SQL, HTML/XML, Markdown) to build and modify reports, configure integrations and data templates, and identify gaps between requirements and platform capabilities.
• Design and run test plans and unit tests, collaborate with QA teams on defects and support UAT with clear technical documentation.
• Create reusable, parameterized report templates and prototype automation such as scheduled reports, dynamic dashboards and auto-validation tools.
• Coordinate with global teams including Payroll Operations, Compliance, Support and Engineering, share knowledge across regions and maintain detailed configuration records and country-specific notes.
• Contribute to the internal knowledge base, mentor other specialists and take part in HRB training and product knowledge sessions.
• Analyze recurring configuration issues, track defect ratios, resolution time and SLA compliance, and propose system enhancements with the Product and Development teams.
