Senior Structural Designer - Educational Facilities

About the role

Dautom is looking for a highly experienced Senior Structural Designer to lead its structural engineering team in Dubai. The ideal candidate comes from a consultancy background and has proven experience designing educational facilities (schools). The role covers leading the design of complex RCC and steel structures from concept through detailed design and construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of RCC and steel buildings from concept to detailed design
• Perform structural analysis and modeling with ETABS, SAFE and SAP2000
• Prepare and review design calculations, reports and technical documentation
• Design foundations, slabs, beams, columns and lateral load systems
• Carry out dynamic analysis (response spectrum and time-history) for seismic and wind loading, and evaluate lateral stability, drift control and vibration performance
• Apply seismic design principles in line with ACI, ASCE 7 and other codes
• Coordinate with architectural and MEP teams, review shop drawings and provide technical support during authority submissions
• Lead, review and guide junior engineers' design work

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in structural design consultancy
• Experience in the full design cycle (concept to IFC)
• Ability to work independently and lead design packages

Required skills

• Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE and SAP2000
• Working knowledge of Revit (BIM modeling and coordination)
• Strong knowledge of ACI, BS and international design standards
