Senior Structural Designer – SP3D

About the role

This senior position focuses on delivering high‑quality 3D structural design and modelling for offshore oil and gas facilities using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D). The role supports detailed engineering activities within Wood’s Central Engineering Division, ensuring designs meet ADNOC standards and offshore execution requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural models for jackets, topsides, decks, modules and support structures using SP3D.
• Produce accurate 2D drawings (GA, fabrication, isometrics) derived from the 3D models.
• Coordinate with piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams to ensure clash‑free, integrated designs.
• Participate in design reviews, model walkthroughs and constructability assessments.
• Incorporate vendor data, site requirements and engineering inputs while maintaining model integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of structural design experience in the oil & gas sector, preferably on ADNOC offshore projects.
• Strong knowledge of offshore structural systems, fabrication methods and installation constraints.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced EPC/EPCM environments and mentor junior designers.
