Shopping Experience Assistant - Cashier

About the role

The Shopping Experience Assistant at IKEA Dalma provides excellent customer service and support at the Info desk and the Returns & Exchange desk. The role covers cash transactions, customer needs, service bookings and smooth store operations, ensuring policies are followed and customer satisfaction is maximised.

Key responsibilities

• Follow SOPs for cash handling and receive payments by cash, cheque, credit card, voucher or automatic debit.
• Compute and record register transactions accurately and count and record the float before opening and after closing.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly transaction reports for reconciliation and analyse sales trends.
• Greet customers, make shopping tools and catalogues available, and provide bags and trolleys.
• Attend to customers quickly to minimise queues, handle complaints courteously and brief the Duty Manager on matters needing management help.
• Keep the Returns & Exchange desk policy perceived as generous and quick, and use it to spot and report product faults, safety or transport issues.
• Welcome customers at Smaland, explain the admission policy, ensure children's safety, and page parents if issues arise in the playroom.
• Book IKEA services such as Home Delivery, Assembly and Measurement, and follow up on out-of-stock items in self-serve.
• Adhere to all system procedures and policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar customer service role.
• Ability to solve problems and handle routine customer complaints effectively.
• Excellent English; Arabic preferred.
