Software Engineer – AI and Data Platforms

About the role

The Big Data Analytics Center (BIDAC) at UAEU is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI‑driven platforms and data applications. You will work closely with data scientists, researchers and engineers to turn cutting‑edge AI research into scalable, secure, user‑friendly systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain web and software applications for AI and data‑driven projects.
• Build and integrate APIs for AI/ML model deployment, data pipelines and backend services.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to implement LLM‑based systems, chatbots and process automation tools.
• Develop front‑end interfaces and dashboards using modern frameworks such as React or Dash.
• Implement secure data access layers and ensure compliance with UAEU data‑governance policies.
• Contribute to MLOps and DevOps pipelines for production AI applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code and use version control (Git/GitHub).
• Deploy solutions on cloud and on‑premise environments and support AI‑powered educational, research and administrative tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• Proven experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, Django) and front‑end libraries (React, Vue, Angular).
• Understanding of RESTful API design, JSON and database integration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills with focus on performance and scalability.
