Spanish Speaking Commis Chef 1 for Western Style Restaurants

About the role

The Commis Chef 1 supports daily kitchen operations in a Western‑style restaurant, ensuring food production meets service standards and guest expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie or Sous‑Chef with food preparation, kitchen maintenance and equipment reporting.
• Prepare dishes according to standard recipes, ensuring quality, presentation and hygiene standards.
• Monitor food storage, sanitation, and control breakage, spoilage and cost items.
• Communicate clearly with senior kitchen staff and attend required meetings.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of culinary experience, including at least 18 months as a Commis 2.
• High school diploma or equivalent professional training.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and work in noisy, dusty kitchen environments.

Required skills

• Ability to read and communicate in English.
