Specialist Consultant Pediatric Surgeon – Government Facility

About the role

A leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Pediatric Surgeon to join its surgical team. The role involves delivering high‑quality surgical care to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents across a range of complex cases.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and surgically manage congenital abnormalities and acquired surgical conditions in infants and children.
• Perform pediatric surgical procedures within the candidate’s specialty and approved scope of practice.
• Manage pediatric surgical emergencies and coordinate urgent interventions.
• Provide pre‑operative assessments, post‑operative care and long‑term follow‑up.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and intensive‑care teams.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital protocols, patient‑safety and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery.
• Western board certification preferred (e.g., UK CCT/CCST, US Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, South African Board).
• Relevant post‑specialisation experience appropriate to a Specialist/Consultant position.
• Strong clinical judgment, surgical expertise and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
