Specialist Consultant Pediatrician

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a qualified Specialist/Consultant Pediatrician to join its pediatric department. The role involves delivering comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adolescents, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of pediatric illnesses.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in infants, children and adolescents.
• Conduct comprehensive pediatric examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor child growth, development, nutrition and immunisation requirements.
• Manage common childhood illnesses, infections and complex paediatric conditions within scope of practice.
• Recognise medical emergencies and provide appropriate initial stabilisation and treatment.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging and other diagnostic investigations.
• Counsel parents and caregivers on child health, nutrition, preventive care and developmental milestones.
• Coordinate with paediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams when required.

Required profile

• Recognised medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics.
• For Consultant positions, appropriate advanced specialist qualifications and relevant post‑specialisation experience.
• Western qualifications preferred (e.g., UK CCT/CCST, US Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, South African Board or equivalent).
• Relevant clinical experience in general paediatrics, including assessment and management of childhood illnesses.
• Excellent diagnostic, communication and interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to evidence‑based, patient‑centred care.
