Specialist Electrical Engineer – Offshore Project

About the role

KBR’s Abu Dhabi PMC team is seeking a Specialist Electrical Engineer to support a major ADNOC offshore project. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi, working from the client or contractor office, and will provide technical expertise and engineering assurance for all electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical expertise across electrical design and engineering activities for the offshore project.
• Review and monitor EPC contractor electrical engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Conduct technical reviews of design documents such as single line diagrams, load lists, equipment datasheets, cable schedules, earthing and lightning protection layouts.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, instrumentation, telecom, civil) to resolve technical issues and ensure integrated design.
• Support construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up phases with technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in electrical engineering within the oil & gas or energy sector, preferably on offshore ADNOC projects.
• Proven track record reviewing EPC contractor designs and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and problem‑solving abilities.

• Generators, power and distribution transformers, and switchgear.
• Motor Control Centres (MCC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• UPS and DC systems, battery and charger systems.
• Protection and control systems, earthing/grounding and lightning protection.
• Hazardous area electrical systems and electrical heat tracing.
• Power and control cable design and routing.
