Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Digitalzone is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to keep its architecture cohesive as the business scales across multiple product verticals. You will work across teams to design, build, and maintain shared services that reduce technical drift and enable faster, safer delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Architect systems that span multiple teams, focusing on long‑term maintainability rather than short‑term sprint goals.
• Drive convergence of shared services, actively preventing fork‑and‑diverge patterns.
• Define and enforce code quality, testing, and review standards, including safe AI‑assisted development practices.
• Lead complex investigations, mentor engineers in systematic debugging, and ensure issues are resolved collaboratively.
• Own observability for your domain and promote a metrics‑driven culture across teams.
• Conduct secure design reviews and work with the security function to protect secrets and PII.
• Partner with fraud and risk teams to embed controls while balancing customer friction.
• Break down epics and cross‑team dependencies to enable short cycle times and smooth hand‑offs.
• Mentor engineers beyond your team and contribute to organization‑wide engineering strategy.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience building and operating production software.
• Proven track record of owning architecture that serves multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in at least one of Digitalzone’s primary stacks (TypeScript, Go, or C#).
• Strong debugging, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with secure design, fraud mitigation, and observability practices.
