Steel Structural Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Steel Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures according to international codes and project specifications.
• Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and technical submissions.
• Design steel connections using IDEA StatiCa and carry out manual calculations for connection forces, bolt capacities, weld strengths, plate bending, and block shear.
• Coordinate with drafting, fabrication, production, and project teams to ensure design requirements are implemented.
• Liaise with authorities, attend technical meetings, and obtain design approvals, including SOE Card & Dubai Municipality G+1 Steel Contracting License.
• Review fabrication and shop drawings, providing technical support to resolve fabrication and site‑related design issues.
• Design anchor bolt systems, considering tension, shear, combined loading, concrete breakout, pull‑out, pry‑out, and edge‑distance effects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong experience in steel structure analysis and design.
• Very good knowledge of design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC 360, BS EN/Eurocodes, Dubai Municipality Codes, IBC and UBC.
• Sound technical knowledge of steel fabrication processes, detailing, and construction practices.
• Experience coordinating with authorities and obtaining design approvals.

Required skills

• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, IDEA StatiCa, Limcon, RAM Connection, Prokon, Hilti, Fischer, and ComFlor deck analysis software.
