Structural Inspector (Healthcare/Hospital)

About the role

Stantec is looking for a Structural Inspector to join its team in Dubai, UAE. The inspector ensures that building construction projects meet the specified quality standards, codes and regulations by assessing building materials, workmanship and structural designs against project specifications. Experience in healthcare projects such as hospitals, clinics or laboratories is a plus.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect construction activities, materials and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Review project plans, specifications and contracts to understand project requirements.
• Test materials such as concrete and steel to evaluate structural integrity and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results and non-conformance reports.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors to resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions.
• Interpret and enforce building codes, regulations and safety standards.
• Take part in site meetings to discuss quality control issues and resolutions.
• Monitor workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
• Provide reports and documentation to project managers and quality assurance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in construction quality control, specifically in structural inspection.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and industry standards.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inspection tools and software.
• Experience in healthcare projects is a plus.
