Supervisor, Electrical Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the electrical maintenance function in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. The role oversees maintenance of CNC machines, special-purpose machines and related production equipment to maximise reliability, availability and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise daily electrical maintenance for CNC machines, SPMs and associated equipment.
• Lead preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance in line with schedules and OEM recommendations.
• Assign and supervise technicians, ensuring timely response to equipment failures.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for recurring or major electrical breakdowns.
• Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC control systems, PLCs, electrical panels, HMIs and machine interfaces.
• Supervise servo drives, spindle drives, motors, encoders, sensors and feedback systems.
• Maintain safe operation of CNC axis controls, tool changers, pallet changers and machine sequence controls.
• Monitor and maintain electrical power distribution components such as MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, relays and transformers.
• Ensure effective troubleshooting of PLC I/O, sensors, solenoids, interlocks and control circuits.
• Supervise inspection and maintenance of machine safety systems, including emergency stops and safety relays.
• Coordinate machine installation, relocation, commissioning and re‑installation from an electrical and controls perspective.
• Monitor equipment performance indicators and recommend reliability improvements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports and spare‑parts consumption using SAP or a CMMS.
• Coordinate with OEM service providers, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, LOTO procedures, quality requirements and company standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Automation or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of CNC control systems, PLCs, servo systems, spindle drives, motors, encoders, sensors and industrial control circuits.
• Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance in an industrial setting.
