Tax & Structuring Advisor

About the role

The Tax & Structuring Advisor is DFO's lead tax specialist, supporting both internal entities and an external portfolio of high‑net‑worth families and businesses expanding into the UAE. The role blends advisory structuring with end‑to‑end tax compliance, ensuring clients receive tax‑efficient solutions while meeting all regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document tax‑efficient structures for UAE expansion, asset consolidation and ongoing operations, providing written recommendations with clear legal bases and risk assessments.
• Own the full UAE tax compliance cycle for assigned entities, including VAT, Corporate Tax, Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) and Excise Tax where applicable; maintain a compliance calendar and manage all FTA correspondence.
• Apply international tax principles—treaty analysis for African jurisdictions, Pillar Two considerations, CRS/FATCA implications, and transfer‑pricing basics—to client mandates.
• Maintain a tax risk register, identify emerging risks, and support internal and external audits.
• Escalate matters beyond DFO’s scope to senior leadership and recommend specialist engagement when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in UAE tax compliance (VAT, Corporate Tax, ESR, Excise) and international tax structuring.
• Strong analytical ability to translate complex tax frameworks into actionable client advice.
• Independent judgment with a conservative, legally defensible approach.
• Excellent written communication skills for client‑ready documentation.
