Technical Buyer (Mandarin Speaker)

About the role

ADRobotics is building a venture focused on next-generation robotics, developing intelligent service robots for safe and efficient operation in human environments. It is hiring a Technical Buyer to manage day-to-day tactical purchasing, acting as the link between engineering and supply chain. The role sits in the Supply Chain pillar, alongside Sourcing, which owns strategic contracts and supplier selection.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end procurement for technical components such as machined parts, PCBs, sensors, actuators, motors and composite materials used in robotics assembly.
• Work with Design, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to understand technical specifications, quality requirements and project timelines.
• Review technical drawings, schematics and specifications so suppliers have accurate data for manufacturing.
• Convert approved purchase requisitions and MRP-generated demand into purchase orders in the ERP system, within agreed pricing and terms.
• Monitor open PO status and delivery schedules, flagging late deliveries, shortages or quality holds to Planning and Production Supervision.
• Work with Quality on non-conformances and root cause analysis with suppliers.
• Resolve supplier issues such as invoice mismatches, packing discrepancies and delivery exceptions with Receiving and Accounts Payable.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist or Sourcing Engineer, preferably in manufacturing, hardware or a start-up/scale-up.
• Mandatory native or bilingual Mandarin to communicate and negotiate with Chinese-based suppliers.
• Mandatory experience in a complex manufacturing environment such as automotive, aerospace, defense or robotics.
• Proven experience managing procurement and logistics from China to the UAE/GCC region, including shipping, customs and import regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering; certification in purchasing or supply chain (e.g. CIPS, APICS/ASCM) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Foundation in engineering, able to read technical blueprints and understand basic mechanical and electrical concepts.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar) for purchase orders and reporting.
• Strong organization and attention to detail with many POs and delivery dates.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial terms for suppliers.
