Technical Support Engineer - Aircraft Aerostructures

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer ensures the safety and performance of aircraft by carrying out critical maintenance on components such as Nacelles, Fan Stator Modules and Radomes. The role contributes directly to the airworthiness and reliability of these parts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance to workshop personnel during inspection and repair of aerostructure components, evaluate damaged parts, develop repair solutions and oversee their implementation.
• Coordinate the design and development of new repair methods and inspection criteria, and create work packages and job cards reflecting current procedures and regulations.
• Ensure airworthiness by reviewing repair work against EASA, FAA and other regulatory requirements, and carry out post-repair inspections and final verification before release.
• Liaise with OEM manufacturers on issues beyond existing repair manuals and advocate alternative solutions; document, track and report findings for continuous improvement.
• Analyse workshop performance and propose process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce turnaround times.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in aerostructures maintenance and repairs, ideally in an MRO environment.
• Experience with nacelles T700, Leap1A and GP7200, fan stator modules, radomes or other aircraft structural components is highly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with OEMs, teams and regulators.

Required skills

• Understanding of mechanical design and repair methodologies for aircraft components.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, OEM manuals and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with specialized tools and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for aerostructures inspection.
