Technical Support Specialist

About the role

The Supreme Legislation Committee is hiring a Technical Support Specialist on a full-time basis. The role provides technical and IT support to users of desktop devices (computers, telephones, printers, scanners) and covers the Help Desk, device maintenance, software installation and training.

Key responsibilities

• Implement work plans and programmes for technical and IT support, and resolve routine and emergency technical issues with desktop devices and systems and applications.
• Monitor and run system and software control processes, oversee devices and peripherals, and install software to keep operations running.
• Respond promptly to users' needs and follow up on the Help Desk system.
• Monitor preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance, coordinate repairs with the relevant parties and follow approved procedures.
• Take part in emergency reinstallation of operating systems and keep OS documentation and updates under review.
• Train users on operating systems and take part in reviewing technical proposals from vendors.
• Monitor connections to information networks, keep up to date with desktop and IT developments, and manage network and email accounts.
• Provide, install and use new software, propose device upgrades and recommend improvements aligned with ISO 27001 information security requirements.
• Help prepare and share cyber security awareness bulletins and IT service guidance for staff.
• Attend IT-related meetings, seminars, committees, forums and conferences and follow up on their outcomes.
• Prepare annual and periodic reports for the Head of Section covering achievements, performance indicators, budget use, challenges and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant professional experience.
• Nationality limited to UAE.
