Waiter, Sunvibe (Pool & Beach)

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, is looking for a Waiter to join its Sunvibe (Pool & Beach) team. The outlet sits in a beachfront setting overlooking the Arabian Gulf and the city skyline, and the role covers service, preparation and guest interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Explain the outlet's concept and food and beverage offerings to guests.
• Keep mise en place ready shift to shift and during service, including cleaning front and back of house and polishing and assembling equipment.
• Operate the POS to process food and beverage orders and handle gift cards and other non-cash payments.
• Deliver service tailored to guest needs, up-selling services and products, and ensure dishes meet hotel standards.
• Pick up and arrange stock such as linen, beverages and dry goods, and keep equipment in good condition.
• Inform management and kitchen staff of guest preferences or allergies, and support other outlets as assigned.
• Follow billing and cashiering policies and report guest preferences to superiors.

Required profile

• High school qualification or equivalent preferred; hospitality, hotel or business management degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience as a waiter/waitress.
• Experience in a high-volume restaurant, luxury hotel and fine dining preferred.
• Ability to work long hours and to understand guest needs and service flow.

Required skills

• Familiarity with POS and cashiering procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of fine dining and casual dining service standards preferred.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office preferred.
