Waiter/ess - Yù & Mì

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is looking for a Waiter/ess for its Yù & Mì Bar & Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant within the Restaurants, Bars & Experiences team. The role reports to the RB&E Supervisor and is central to delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Chinese menu, including ingredients, preparation methods and pairing recommendations, and suggest dishes to guests.
• Take accurate orders, communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar staff and deliver orders promptly and to specification.
• Address special requests and dietary needs professionally, informing management and the kitchen about guest preferences or allergies.
• Provide attentive, personalised service and upsell services and products appropriately.
• Operate the POS system to process orders, perform billing in line with hotel and cashiering policies, and set up and clear tables to restaurant standards.
• Create memorable moments for guests from arrival to departure, following the MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQES).

Required profile

• High school qualification or equivalent preferred; a degree or higher national diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is advantageous.
• At least 2 years' experience as a waiter/waitress, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or luxury hotel.
• Strong English communication skills; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods and to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of dining service procedures and standards.
• Familiarity with restaurant point of sale and cashiering procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of the service flow.
