Assistant Manager – Retail

About the role

BEAMS is a Japanese‑inspired retail brand that curates products from Japan and around the world. We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Retail to lead the sales floor in Abu Dhabi, support the Shop Manager, and deliver memorable customer experiences through styling, product curation and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift briefings, floor allocation, breaks and handovers.
• Model and coach “The BEAMS Abu Dhabi Way” on the sales floor.
• Support team sales while prioritising store and customer outcomes.
• Monitor conversion, average transaction value and individual contribution.
• Develop product knowledge, styling and storytelling.
• Maintain fitting‑room, floor and replenishment standards.
• Implement visual direction from the designated VMD.
• Oversee POS use, returns and service recovery.
• Coordinate stock availability and counts with the Storekeeper.
• Report customer demand, missed sales and local product feedback.
• Support retail targets, transaction accuracy and loss prevention.
• Approve returns, discounts and compensation within delegated authority.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience in premium/luxury retail, fashion or lifestyle.
• 1–2+ years supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Strong customer service and people‑coaching skills.
• Confident communication and ability to lead by example.
• Interest in fashion, styling and product storytelling.
• Commercial awareness with a customer‑first mindset.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Professional grooming and presentation.
• Willingness to work shift‑based schedule, including standing and walking.
• Flexibility to support launches, events and stock counts.
