Class Teacher – Early Years

About the role

Masterminds Nursery and Kindergarten is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher to lead early‑years classrooms for children under the age of four. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, theme‑based activities while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily classroom activities aligned with weekly themes and enrichment programmes.
• Prepare equipment and resources needed for daily and weekly lessons.
• Facilitate learning activities in pairs or small groups.
• Document daily observations and track each child’s progress.
• Supervise pupils during transitions to specialist lessons, facilities, medical centre and other activities, maintaining safety at all times.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development cycles.
• Support emergency procedures and after‑school activities as required.
• Provide backup support in other classrooms during staff absences.
• Uphold health‑and‑safety policies on and off school premises.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all school matters.

Required profile

• Native English speaker; additional language such as French is a plus.
• Minimum three years of experience teaching children under four in an early‑years setting.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree or vocational qualification.
• Familiarity with US curriculum is advantageous.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and teamwork abilities.
• Well‑organized, flexible, creative problem‑solver with sensitivity to children’s needs.
