Commis II – Latin American Restaurant

About the role

The Commis II will support the Latin American restaurant kitchen by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. This full‑time, onsite position reports to the kitchen supervisor and works closely with the culinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, ensuring quality, presentation and compliance with checklists.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality during preparation, and adjust as needed.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain a clean, disinfected kitchen environment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures, and follow all safety and security policies.
• Assist with inventory handling, report maintenance issues, and support team communication.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
