About the role

The American University in the Emirates seeks a senior academic leader to serve as Dean of the College of Education, providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to advance teacher preparation, research, and community partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the College of Education.
• Oversee curriculum development, accreditation and program quality to meet international standards.
• Recruit, mentor and support faculty, promoting research, scholarship and professional growth.
• Foster a strong research culture, secure grants and encourage interdisciplinary studies.
• Enhance student success through internships, field experiences and mentorship programs.
• Build and maintain partnerships with K‑12 schools, government agencies and industry leaders.
• Manage budgeting, fundraising and resource allocation for the college.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum five years of academic leadership experience at an accredited university (Associate Dean or higher).
• Distinguished record of research, teaching and service in education.
• Strong connections with educational institutions, government agencies and community partners.
• Proven ability in strategic planning, faculty development and student success initiatives.
