Design Engineer – Ground Improvement

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Design Engineer with at least five years of experience in ground improvement. The role involves creating cost‑effective, technically sound designs for a variety of ground improvement techniques while ensuring compliance with international standards and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design calculations, engineering reports, drawings, specifications and technical submissions for ground improvement systems.
• Design and optimise techniques such as vibro‑compaction, vibro‑replacement (stone columns), dynamic compaction, deep soil mixing, jet grouting, controlled modulus columns, and rigid inclusions.
• Review geotechnical investigation reports and recommend appropriate improvement solutions.
• Perform settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability and liquefaction analyses.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and project teams during design development and execution.
• Provide technical support to construction teams and review contractor/shop drawings for compliance.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals and tender submissions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus).
• Minimum five years of experience designing ground improvement works.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with international design standards and codes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with geotechnical design software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio or Settle3.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office suite.
